Christmas in San Francisco

Andy and I trekked to San Francisco to spend a few days with Shannon and Bill. We had a great time!

It was sunny on Tuesday and ‘almost’ too warm. During my run I was regretting not bringing my tank top.

That night we went to a party that a friend of Shannon’s was having. The host lays out blank gingerbread houses for the children and others to decorate.

On Wednesday afternoon we went to the Mission District for a burrito, murals, ice-cream, and creepy stuffed animals.

The murals in the Mission District tell the story of human rights abuses, political abuse as well as local gentrification. (source: http://www.balmyalley.com/Murals.html)

After eating a burrito and walking around for a bit, we stopped off at Humphrey Slowcombe for ice-cream. They have amazing flavors. I got a simple Vanilla while Andy, Shannon and Bill got more complex flavor combinations like Guinness.

I cannot express how good this cone was. Even in the rain.

We got caught in a serious downpour.

After ice-cream, we drove over to a weird little taxidermy store that featured an interesting mix of animals. I’ve seen almost every animal taxidermy thanks to my Uncle Bryan. But this store had a few I hadn’t seen.

We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve which was awesome. We continued our tradition of having crab.

I received a lot of running clothes: hats, vest, jacket, and arm warmers. Andy received a new foil blade and quite a few other cool gifts.

All in all it was a lovely trip.
