San Francisco Dreaming

I took Friday off and Andy and I drove to San Francisco to spend a few days with Shannon and Bill. We had a great time. We didn’t know that it was the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge! After enjoying the heck out of ourselves in San Francisco, we drove 101 North to Eureka and spent the night. We visited breweries, Andy’s favorite burrito place, and the beach!!

Along I-5 we saw snow in late May! Kinda crazy.

After several hours on the road, we needed to stop for a stretch and a beverage.

Guess where we are at?

Here’s a clue:

Here we are!

No visit to San Francisco is complete without sushi!

We enjoyed the regatta down at Christy Field.

Warships!!!

Car show!

Then we drove through a tree.

We enjoyed some delicious beer.

And more food.

It was a fantastic burrito.

The beach! (Yes, I know my eyes are closed)

And yogurt. Really nice day for yogurt.

I-5 Fun

It turns out we didn’t take any photos at Dunsmuir Brewery. But we did take lots of photos of other fun stuff!

Mt. Shasta Brewing

Tucked away in Weed, CA is Mt. Shasta Brewing Company. They have some great beers on tap including a creme ale and spicy beer called Jalapeno Weed. And yes, it does taste like jalapenos.

Etna Brewing Company

On Sunday Andy and I took a quick trip to: Etna Brewing, Mt. Shasta Brewing and Dunsmuir Brewery. It was fun, fun, fun!

This post covers Etna Brewing which is one of the best breweries I’ve ever been too. (Side note – you know if was a good weekend if you need multiple blog posts!!) Not only is the beer fantastic but the staff are well what you’d want great servers to be: funny, kind, happy, and informative. We learned a lot about the area breweries from one of our 3 servers. And they make a damn fine cookie too!

My favorite was the Blackberry Blonde. The beer was good but so was the food.

Etna Brewing is off the beaten path but well worth the trip!
